HOW TO CUT AND COOK SPAGHETTI PUMPKIN (SPAGUETTI SQUASH)
It is a yellow squash that, when cooked and served, takes on the texture of spaghetti. It is soft in flavor so it can be flavored with sauces or accompaniments.
To cut the pumpkin you need a large, very sharp knife, a damp cloth and a cutting board.
They place the cloth under the board so that it does not move when they are working with the sharp knife. They can start from one side of the pumpkin and insert the knife or carefully insert the knife into the middle of the pumpkin and cut it in half.
As you can see when it is raw, it has the color of a melon. Its color changes to yellow when it is cooked.
Now with a spoon they are going to remove the seeds from the pumpkin until the center is very clean. They add olive oil and cover it all, season with salt and pepper to taste and place it in a mold or baking tray turning upside down.
Bake for 45-55 minutes in a 190 ° C oven or until a knife inserted makes the squash feel soft.
You can see the texture of the pumpkin after it has been in the oven for 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool a little. With the help of a clean cloth (if it is still hot), begin to scrape the pumpkin with a fork, moving from end to end.
